Two Rounds Of Thunderstorms Predicted In NJ, PA: Here's Timing
The National Weather Service is predicting two rounds of thunderstorms in New Jersey and Pennsylvania on Thursday, May 23. The first is expected in the morning northwest of the I-95 corridor through noon, and the second in the afternoon and evening along the Jersey Shore and in South Jersey (see map above). The NWS warns that strong to severe thunderstorms could come with gusty winds. Travel delays due to flooding, downpours, and hail are expected, AccuWeather says. Downed Lines Disrupt Amtrak, NJ Transit Service Between NJ, Penn Station
It's certainly not convenient. Amtrak and NJ Transit customers were livid over service disruptions between Penn Station and Newark due to downed power lines blocking the tracks on Wednesday evening, May 22. In a statement posted to X, Amtrak said service was stopped at 5:36 p.m. with no estimation of restoration. As of 10 p.m., widespread delays were being reported by Amtrak. Amber Jones, a 28-year-old surgical technician from Monmouth County, died on May 15, surrounded by loved ones, according to her obituary on the Buckland Funeral Home website. Amber, affectionately known as "Brown Sugar," graduated from Long Branch High School in 2013 and later earned a medicate associates degree from Brookdale College. Willingboro Man Killed In Drive-By Shooting At Social Club
A 45-year-old man from Willingboro was killed in a drive-by shooting outside a social club, authorities said. The shooting occurred around 9:15 p.m. Tuesday, May 21 at the Diamond Dogz social club in the first block of John F. Kennedy Way, according to Burlington County Prosecutor LaChia L. Bradshaw and Willingboro Township Acting Public Safety Director Captain Ian Bucs. Pickup Truck Driver Killed In Collision With Garbage Truck In South Jersey
A 53-year-old pickup truck driver from Cherry Hill was killed after a collision with a garbage truck in Gloucester County, authorities said. The crash occurred at about noon on Tuesday, May 21 at Lambs and Glassboro roads in Mantua, police said. The front of the garbage truck struck the driver's side door of the Ram pickup, police said. The victim's name had not been released. The garbage truck driver was not hurt.

Four men and two teens were arrested in Atlantic City, five of whom were accused of selling heroin, cocaine, and Xanax, authorities said.
