Two Trenton men have been arrested in connection with a burglary last month at a 7-11 store, authorities said. Martin Luther Melvin, 55, and Venta Hayes Jr., 37, were charged in the theft, a Trenton police spokeswoman said on Thursday, May 2. Jersey Shore City's First Female Police Chief Sworn Into New Role
A new police chief in Cape May County is making history in her city. Chief Katherine Madden was sworn into her new role with the North Wildwood Police Department on Wednesday, May 1. She's the city's first female police chief and the 14th in the city's history. The city said Chief Madden is a lifelong North Wildwood resident and is the daughter of retired sergeant Thomas Flounders. A 46-year-old man was killed Wednesday night after being ejected from his motorcycle in a crash with another vehicle that was making a turn into a parking lot in Cumberland County, authorities said. Angel Alicea Jr., of Bridgeton, was riding a Honda motorcycle northbound on Route 77 in Upper Deerfield Township at about 8:30 p.m. when he collided with a southbound Chevrolet passenger vehicle that was making a left turn at milepost 2.5, said Sgt.
