New Rochelle Teacher David Tobey Wins Golden Baton Award

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- Albert Leonard Middle School/Isaac E. Young Middle School orchestra teacher David Tobey was recently presented the "Golden Baton" award by the Westchester Philharmonic for his passion for music and contributions to the orchestra.

Tobey has been a member of the Westchester Philharmonic since its founding 33 years ago. As an accomplished violinist, he has performed with the American Symphony Orchestra, the American Composers Orchestra, Long Island Philharmonic, Little Orchestra Society of New York, New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, Brooklyn Philharmonic, Queens Symphony, Joffrey Ballet and Bronx Art Ensemble.
