The incoming students — including the first co-ed class of the School of Arts and Sciences — met with academic advisers, registered for classes, learned about student support services, and attended a departmental fair.

President Judith Huntington and senior administrators also welcomed the students and their families. During breaks from the orientation schedule, everyone mingled with new friends and future classmates at a barbecue lunch and an evening pizza party.

On one evening, there was an evening of music.
