A part-time custodian at an elementary school in Westchester has been arrested and charged with forcibly touching a minor, though few details have been released.
Yonkers resident Raphael De Souza, 24, who worked part-time at Columbus Elementary School in New Rochelle, has been charged with two misdemeanor counts of forcible touching, for incidents reportedly involving a student.
School officials said that they received reports of the alleged forcible touching last week and alerted police immediately, leading to De Souza’s arrest. He was arraigned on Friday on the charges and released on $500 bond. He has been suspended from the district and banned from school grounds.
Additional information is not being released, as the investigation into the allegations continues.
