Ray Rice's Jersey Removed From New Rochelle High School

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- New Rochelle High School has taken down Ray Rice's NFL jersey as well as a placard honoring the former student athlete following the release of video footage showing him knocking his then-fiancee and now-wife unconscious in an Atlantic City casino elevator, according to LoHud.com.

The school's athletic director said that in taking down the jersey and plaque, the school has created a teachable moment for students, LoHud.com reported. 

Rice's No.5  jersey that he wore while playing at New Rochelle still remains retired and on the gym wall, LoHud.com said.
