NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. A New Rochelle schools employee has been accused of sending lewd material to an undercover investigator posing as a 15-year-old girl in a chat room, the Westchester County District Attorney said Thursday.
Patrick Clark, 42, of 50 Highland Ave., New Rochelle, was arraigned on one count of first-degree attempted disseminating indecent material to minors, a felony. He is an electrician for the school district.
Between April 5 and May 8, an investigator from the Westchester County District Attorneys office assumed the role of a 15-year-old girl and engaged in a series of online chat conversations with Clark, according to a release from the District Attorneys office.
The investigator made it clear to Clark that she was 15, the release said. Clark allegedly discussed sexual acts he would like to engage in with her.
Clark was arrested and arraigned in White Plains City Court, the DA said.
The New Rochelle School District said it was told the charges are not connected in any way to Clark's position in the district.
The DA has informed us that aside from his working for the school district, that nothing related to the charges is connected to the district in any way, schools spokesperson Paul Costiglio said in an email. We are offering our full cooperation to the DA. He has been working for us since 2005.
Bail was set at $2,500 cash or bond, and Clark is due back in court on May 31. He faces a maximum sentence of four years in state prison, the DAs office said.
