Details Released After 36 Arrested In Massive New Rochelle Drug Bust

Federal officials have released details after dozens of men were arrested on Thursday in a massive drug sweep in New Rochelle.

Of the 36 people arrested in connection to the drug selling operation, 19 were charged in White Plains Federal Court with narcotics conspiracy, Joon Kim, the acting United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, announced on Friday.

Kim said that the suspects stand charged of conspiracy to distribute more than 500 grams of powder cocaine and more than 28 grams of crack cocaine since September.

The sweep was conducted on Thursday morning with officers from the New Rochelle Police Department, FBI, DEA and Westchester County Department of Public Safety. As of Thursday afternoon, 36 people were in custody, with officers continuing to search for the remaining suspects.

Among those charged includes:

  • Andre “Huddy” Francis;
  • Raymond “Fresh” Gilkes;
  • Krishna Raghubar;
  • Jose Acevedo;
  • Anthony “Razor” Jackson;
  • Devaugn Blakey;
  • Chris Mabry;
  • Eric “E Waterz” Landrine;
  • David “Prince” Tucker;
  • Kareem Parnell;
  • Jerry “Juice” Augustine;
  • Jason “Fetty” Ortega;
  • Rakeem Jones;
  • Ryan Hines;
  • David Thomas;
  • Chanju “Choo” Carrol;
  • Jack Benjamin;
  • Kendall “Swin” Miller and
  • Troy Wilcox.

Each suspect faces a maximum term of 40 years in prison, with a minimum term of five years in prison.

“I congratulate the New Rochelle Police Department and the FBI for the success of this important effort to stop the flow of illegal narcotics into our communities," Westchester County District Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino, Jr. said. "We are pleased to join with our colleagues in law enforcement in an ongoing collaborative effort to combat this serious problem.”

New Rochelle Police Commissioner Patrick J. Carroll said: “I am proud of the dedicated efforts of our members and those of our law enforcement partners which resulted in the indictments and arrests of these individuals. New Rochelle will not tolerate the sale of drugs, or the violent crimes that are associated with the narcotic trade. This sends a strong message of our dedication to clearing our community of these dangerous substances.”
