The city’s Municipal Arts Commission and Department of Development are hosting an open call asking for artists to create a design that can be applied to a three-dimensional fiberglass replication of the new “Ideally Yours” New Rochelle city logo.

Artists have been tasked with creating a depiction of their proposed sculpture design that indicates how they envision their work in real space on the 7-foot high statues. Artists may submit singularly or as a team.

Officials said that the purpose of the project is to “add art to the public realm in downtown New Rochelle, to enliven the streetscape, create a welcoming vibrant downtown and strengthen a sense of community. Designs must be painted to the form, with Acrylic paint suggested.

Submissions are due no later than Friday, Dec. 15, with selected artists notified a month later. Complete submission criteria can be found here.
