Residents of all faiths were represented at the Chamber of Commerce’s annual holiday event, which featured a lighting of the city’s Christmas tree, Hanukkah menorah and Kwanza candles, led by various New Rochelle religious officials.

The air rang with the sounds of Christmas carols, and Kris Kringle himself made an appearance with his friends at the New Rochelle Fire Department to officially kick off the holiday season in the city.

According to a joint statement from members of the Chamber, the ceremony “signifies the unity of the diverse and harmonious community of New Rochelle as they come together to celebrate the joy of the season.
