NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- New Rochelle Library's new book club, "Cook by the Book," has just formed.
This new book club will explore the library's collection of cookbooks and online food-related resources. It will meet once a month on a Saturday afternoon in the library's meeting room.
Local cookbook authors will be invited to some of the sessions to demonstrate recipes from their books.
An introductory session will be held on Saturday, Jan. 16, from 2 to 2:30 p.m. The first meeting of the club will take place, on Saturday, Jan. 23, from 2 to 3 p.m, with an appropriate starting theme of "hors d'oeuvres and appetizers."
The New Rochelle Public Library and the Huguenot Children's Library will be closed on Sunday, Jan. 17 and Monday, Jan. 18, in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. The Huguenot Children's Library will also be closed on Saturday, Jan. 16 so that volunteers participating in the Volunteer New York! Day of Service can paint the interior of the Children's Library.
