New Rochelle Celebrates Bastille Day

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – New Rochelle will hold a number of events on Thursday, July 14 commemorating French independence by honoring Bastille Day, beginning with the annual flag raising ceremony at City Hall.

Mayor Noam Branson and members of the New Rochelle-La Rochelle Sister Cities Committe will take part in the ceremony, which will include a performance of 'La Marseillaise' by Camille Aubert of La Rochelle and Café.

Croissants will be served in the Rotunda Gallery.

That evening, the New Rochelle Jazz Festival kicks off at Jolo's Restaurant, with performances by Brian Carter, Ras Chemash Lamed and guest pianist Nico Morelli from Paris.

The concert begins at 6:30 p.m., and tickets are $30 all included.

Jolo's Restaurant is located at 49 Lawton Street.
