The fireworks by Grucci begin at 9:30 p.m. Sunday, rain or shine, with great viewing from Hudson and Five Islands Parks. Just before and after the fireworks display, nearby streets will be closed to cars so pedestrians can walk safely; parking also will be limited.
The fireworks are just he beginning of a month filled with weekly concerts at the Hudson Park bandshell, arts encounters at the train station, the Chamber of Commerce restaurant week from July 11-15, the New Rochelle Jazz Festival from July 14-17, the BID's Music on Library Green starting July 21 and a lighted boat parade July 30.
For swimmers, the Hudson Park Beach and Lincoln Pool are open for the season. Finally, don’t forget the city's two farmers' markets -- every Friday on North Avenue at the High School and every Saturday, the newly expanded BID Grand Market downtown is on the Library Green.
