The event, from 6:30 p.m. to 11 p.m., includes a festive evening of authentic Croatian dishes, live music, raffle prizes, and a takeaway gift -- at $50 per person.

The New Rochelle restaurant, at 721 Main St., was founded to offer guests a genuine Mediterranean experience complete with a casual ambiance and healthy, fresh coastal foods.

Owner Zeljko (Jerry) Tomic, a Pelham resident who owns several businesses in Westchester, said the name of his popular eatery originates from his hometown, a historic Croatian port city, and beloved tourist destination. It was there Tomic learned to cook simple, high-quality Croatian dishes from his mother who ran a restaurant on the nearby island of Lopud.

Tomic, a former fisherman, spends hours at the Hunts Point fish market each week, hand-selecting the highest quality fresh fish he can find. The fish are presented to customers raw and on iced platters for selection at the table before they are cooked. Preparations are kept simple; sea salt and olive oil explicitly from Croatia.

“My mother would always say, you do not need too much seasoning if the food is fresh and good,” said Tomic.

Reservations for the anniversary dinner are limited; call 914-637-3777 to reserve.
