Strong Storms Will Move Through Westchester, Tornadoes Possible Upstate

Scattered showers and thunderstorms will move through the Hudson Valley and most of New York state Tuesday evening, according to the National Weather Service.

Tornadoes are possible in Dutchess County and other upstate counties, along with possible quarter-size hail and wind gusts up to 70 miles per hour, according to the National Weather Service. A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for Dutchess until midnight Wednesday. (See above chart.)

The storms are expected to arrive after 8 p.m. Tuesday. Some of the downpours could linger into the Wednesday morning commute, according to AccuWeather.com.

Isolated showers and thunderstorms are possible before 3 p.m. Wednesday as skies gradually clear during the day with a high temperature in the low-80s.

Thursday will be sunny and delightful with a high in the upper-70s.
