Severe Weather Hits New Rochelle

NEW ROCHELLE N.Y – Thursday's expected severe lightning and thunderstorm has made its way to New Rochelle.

No outages or damage had been reported as of 8 p.m.

More showers and thunderstorms are expected, mainly before midnight, according to a forecast from the National Weather Service (NWS). Some storms could be severe, with large hail, damaging winds, heavy rain and frequent lightning, with a low temperature around 76.

More severe weather is expected Friday. Patchy fog is expected before 9 a.m. There is a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after noon, according to the NWS. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds and heavy rain.
