In addition to the strong, gusty winds that could bring down trees and cause power outages, there could be rumbles of thunder, flash flooding and street flooding possible, according to AccuWeather.com.
A Wind Advisory, in effect from 8 a.m. Tuesday to 2 a.m. Wednesday, includes Southern Westchester and coastal Connecticut.
The cold front will result in a drop in temperatures this week.
“Across much of this region, it has been dry recently, which should mean that the ground can absorb most of the rainfall,” AccuWeather Lead Long-Range Meteorologist Paul Pastelok said.
Motorists should be wary of slick spots from oil buildup and fallen leaves during the dry spell.
Cooler and drier air will follow the cold front at midweek.
