In speaking as a resident of Peekskill and former Union Official, I respectfully disagree with Mr. Roberts. Think about it. Is it fair to pay a Police Officer who has been with Department for over 20 years the same as an officer who just started? There is a matter of loyalty along with recognizing those who have committed to public service. It is "wasteful" to create a healthy culture which acknowledges the work of those with years of service? It's a difficult task to compare private and public sector workers. In the private sector, workers are often subject to the random fairness of a select few. The public sector often pay less but it's workers carry out a mission which serves the public good. In any organization there is the question of moral. For keeping our City safe, clean, and vibrant, it's worth the investment. Our dedicated City workers deserve no less. I hope Politicians continue to have the courage to showcase the exceptional worth and value of our Workforce .
Congrats! The gross inaction of those Gun Huggers embracing status quo has contributed to many shooting incidents. A select few who claim to love our Country yet have lowered themselves into a strange paranoia. If you really believe you need your guns to defend against those you elect, move! View Comment
Justin has clearly stated his position a long time ago.. that he, unlike his opponent opposes the pipeline and supports clean energy. When the community came out in opposition of the pipeline, Murphy remained silent. We won't forget his inaction in November. View Comment
Sad that even in his later years, Pataki remains in lockstep with those who place profits way above clean air and water. Fracking is dangerous, it's long term effects are unknown, and is outdated. There are no such questions about solar energy and wind turbines. It's time to move toward the future with consideration that the actions of today will effect our children and grandchildren. It's disgusting that his x coach supports Rice. Calling a knockout a "mis-step"??!?!? He could have killed her! Does anyone think this was a one time incident? What a poor example is served by this Coach. The proper energy needs to center on the victim not the abuser. SUGGESTION FOR New Rochelle.. a field trip to "My Sister's Place"... better yet some Community Service. View Comment
Thank you for speaking up at the Peekskill City Council Meeting. The information you presented clearly demonstrates the detrimental effects of this problematic pipeline on Peekskill and as well as our neighboring Towns and Villages. View Comment
Much Thanks to our Mayor and City Council for standing up for the best interests of Peekskill. The Pipeline offers nothing for our residents except health and safety problems. It was clear at the City Council meeting that Representatives from the Project were poorly prepared to answer the many concerns from our residents who were quite well prepared with valid questions. Our Community has come together to say... no this dangerous venture of non residents. View Comment
