NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- Ursuline’s Mary McCabe, Brittany Mitchell and Essence Savinon were selected All-Section by the Section 1 Softball Coaches Association.
The trio, along with all of the Section 1 players chosen all-section and all-section honorable mention, were honored at a dinner Wednesday.
McCabe, who will attend Lafayette in the fall and play softball, along with Mitchell and Savinon, helped lead Ursuline to the Section 1 Class A Softball Championship semifinals.
John Pirone, who guided Ursuline to a fourth consecutive league title, was selected as the league coach of the year.
The Koalas won the league and advanced to the sectional semifinals after graduating eight seniors from the team that played for the Section 1 Class AA title in 2011.
Jamie Carfora and Lauren Filardi were chosen all-section honorable mention.
