New Rochelle Man Named Pace Cross Country Coach

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Tom O’Neill has been appointed head coach of both the men’s and women’s cross country teams at Pace University, it was announced Tuesday by Mark Brown, director of athletics.

He will begin leading both programs on Aug. 16.

O’Neill was the assistant cross country and track and field coach at Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, N.J., from 2007 to 2011. He coached the 2011 NCAA Woman of the Year and a Division III National Champion at Stevens. He has also coached numerous national qualifiers and conference champions in track and field.

He helped with recruiting, meet scheduling and training programs at Stevens. O’Neill was also the founder and chairman of the Stevens Institute of Technology Nutrition Committee from 2010-2011.

O’Neill also works as a personal trained at Equinox Fitness Club in Mamaroneck.

He received a bachelor’s in English in 2006 from Oneonta State, where he was a two-time All-American. He earned a master’s education from the University of Bridgeport in 2007.

He currently lives in New Rochelle.
