Rangers Assist supported by Chase is dedicated to refurbishing local ice rinks and improving the youth hockey experience through increased opportunities and accessibility to the sport.

As part of the program, the Rangers and Chase donated $25,000 to Playland Ice Casino and has worked with Westchester County to help refurbish the arena that was severely damaged by Hurricane Sandy. Restorations to the ice rink over the last two years included a repaired roof, new dehumidification system and replaced boilers.

The celebration event will include a variety of activities for attendees, including a “Try Hockey for Free” clinic, a free family skating session and an exhibition hockey game with Rangers alumni who were members of the 1994 Stanley Cup Champions. The game will begin with a ceremonial puck drop from Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino.

The game will be hosted by Rangers PA announcer John Sheatsley and the National Anthem will be sung by the legendary John Amirante.

The game will cost $15 a ticket, with 100 percent of proceeds going to the “Friends of Westchester County Parks.”

All other activities are free and open to the public. For more information on attending the event, visit www.nyrangers.com/assist.
