The Softball Academy is a unique educational and athletic opportunity that allows softball players to improve their skills while not sacrificing collegiate eligibility, and at the same time getting a top-notch quality education.

Softball Academy players train up to 10 hours weekly on fitness for softball, as well as mechanics and technique while Monroe College monitors the academic and athletic development of all participants leading to graduation with undergraduate degrees.

"It's really a win-win for so many athletes," Varsity Head Coach Keri Meyer who supervises the program, said in a statement. "Because after graduating from high school, maybe the best thing a student can do is get involved in a structured program. In our Academy the door of opportunity is wide open, whether to continue on as a varsity player at Monroe, move on to an NCAA school, or simply continue at the academy and be part of the Monroe College family."

Athletes must be high school seniors, bring sneakers, appropriate attire and gloves and must also have a copy of their transcripts and proof of a physical exam in the last year.

Softball players interested in the Monroe Softball Academy or Monroe Mustangs varsity softball should  contact coach Keri Meyer at KMeyer@Monroecollege.edu or 914-740-6510.
