The Huguenots (1-0) flexed their muscles in a 31-7 rout of Clarkstown South High School last week. Star quarterback Khalil Edney completed 14-of-20 passes for 208 yards and three touchdowns and also ran for 108 yards and a touchdown, including an 83-yard burst for a score in the fourth quarter.

White Plains (0-1) gave Harrison High School a fight on Sunday and took a 14-10 lead into halftime, but the Huskies proved to be too strong and experienced and scored 20 straight points en route to a 30-20 win. White Plains stayed in the game in the first half but Harrison switched to the running game in the second half and overwhelmed the Tigers.

White Plains will need to make the appropriate defensive adjustments against New Rochelle if the Huguenots begin to dominate either on the ground or through the air.

New Rochelle will face a much tougher challenge in week two against White Plains, which used its pass rush to disrupt Harrison’s passing game. Edney will more than likely have to use his speed to avoid sacks throughout the night.
