NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- The New Rochelle Jr. Huguenots Basketball program will hold tryouts for its second season in several age groups at the Remington Boys Club from Sept. 23-30.
Huguenots founder Sean Oliver began the program last fall and has included teams in sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade divisions for the 2012-2013 season.
"The only requirement of being a member of this program is that you are a New Rochelle resident," Oliver said. "These teams will be travel teams and most of the games will be played on the weekends and [the teams will] participate in the Tri County League. They will also participate in other leagues in Westchester and New York City."
Tryouts for sixth-graders will be held Sept. 23 at 4:30 p.m. and Sept. 24 at 6:30 p.m. Seventh-graders will try out on Sept. 23 at 6 p.m. and Sept. 24 at 7:45. The eighth- graders will have their tryouts on Sept. 23 at 7:15 p.m. and Sept. 30 at 5:30 p.m.
