In the end, it was North Rockland's Kayla McDermott - who also picked up the win on the mound - who tripled home the game-winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning, breaking a tie to give her team a 6-5 victory in walkoff fashion.

North Rockland broke a 2-2 tie by rallying for three runs in the fifth to go up 5-2, but the Koalas responded with a clutch, three-run outburst in the top of the sixth to tie it up again.

Team captain Alicia Bertolino had a pair of triples and two RBI for NR (2-0), and Victoria Alonso had a triple, a double and an RBI. Ursuline dropped to 0-2.
