NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. - New Rochelle's dream season continued Saturday when the boys basketball team rushed to a 60-46 victory over Northport in upstate Glens Falls to reach the New York State Class AA championship game.

Joe Clarke led the way with 22 points and 10 rebounds as the Huguenots led 29-20 at halftime and 41-31 after three quarters in a convincing win.

New Rochelle controlled the game with a tough, pressing defense that stifled the taller Northport team.

The Huguenots (16-9), who have won eight straight games since being 8-9 late in the season, will play for the school's first state basketball championship Sunday against either Troy (20-3) or Bishop Kearney (15-7) at 3:15 p.m.

Several members of the team, including Clarke and Khalil Edney, played for the varsity football team that won a state title in November. The two-sport stars will have a chance to win both titles in the same season.
