Monroe's Marshall Commits to Liberty University

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – Monroe College’s Davon Marshall became the first Mustang this season to commit to an NCAA school when he decided to join Liberty University on Wednesday.

Marshall finished his career at Monroe as the fourth-best scorer in Mustang history with 960 points. He was the team’s leading scorer this season and earned team MVP and first-team Region All-Star honors. He led the Mustangs into the NJCAA National Tournament.

Marshall shot 48 percent and 43.4 from beyond the arc in two seasons with the Mustangs. He was an 83.5 percent free throw shooter and made 317 field goals, 180 three-pointers and 122 free throws. He also had 153 rebounds and 266 assists.

Marshall’s teammate, Drimir Ferguson, signed with North Carolina Central in December. Orlando Sanchez and Marco Bourgalt, two key pieces in Monroe’s historic season, have yet to make a basketball decision.
