NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – The Monroe College men’s basketball team has made a few coaching maneuvers for the 2012-13 season.
Dana Warner, who had been an assistant coach for four years, moved up to lead assistant coach. Chris Neely, previously a veteran youth and scholastic coach, will now coach Monroe’s junior varsity team and will also be the second assistant coach on Monroe’s bench.
"We now have two energetic young assistants who will relate to the players and speed their development," said Monroe head coach Jeff Brustad. "Dana's experience as a Monroe player and, of course, his coaching experience with us will serve him well. Chris' background as an educator and teacher of fundamentals puts him in a perfect spot with our new JV program."
Warner began coaching at Monroe in the 2008-09 season, and he and Neely were teammates during their childhood years.
Monroe opens its basketball season at home in the Monroe Athletic Complex on Nov. 3.
