NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. - Iona College stayed close in the first half Friday before falling to Ohio State, 95-70, in the second round of the NCAA men's basketball tournament in Dayton, Ohio.

Iona (20-14) returned to the Dayton Arena court where it suffered a loss to Brigham Young in the first round of the  NCAA tournament last year.

Tavon Sledge scored 20 for Iona, and Sean Armand added 17.

The Gaels, who trailed 43-33 at halftime in a close game, are 1-9 all-time in the tournament. Their only win came in 1980 over College of the Holy Cross.
