Former Westchester Star Picked In First Round Of Pro Lacrosse Draft

PELHAM, N.Y. -- Matt Landis, a former Pelham Memorial High School standout who is now a senior defenseman at the University of Notre Dame, is headed for the pros.

The 6-foot-2, 195-pound Landis was selected with the third overall pick in the Major League Lacrosse Draft this past weekend by the Florida Launch.

Landis played four seasons of varsity lacrosse at Pelham Memorial. He was an All-America selection and first-team all-state honors during his senior season in 2012.

He was also a standout on the Pelicans' football and hockey teams and was named Pelham Memorial's 2012 Athlete of the Year.
