NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- Want to see the boys basketball team play in Saturday's state semifinals against Northport in Glen Falls? New Rochelle High School and the New Rochelle Basketball Association are organizing buses to take fans to the game.
"We're trying to give the kids as much support as we can," said Sean Oliver, of the association. "We want to get some people up there wearing their purple to help motivate the team and cheer them on for a win."
The school is organizing buses for students at $20 per person. Oliver is organizing the buses for adults and students who don't attend New Rochelle High School. These seats will cost $30 per person.
Kids throughout the area are excited about the basketball team's success, he said.
"I think it's great for the community - these kids are playing their hearts out, and people are talking about them all around the world because of 'The Shot' that Khalil made," he said. "They're calling him 'Mr. 2.9.' A lot of people are supporting them and want to be involved."
