New Rochelle High School Principal Don Conetta's resignation is effective June 30, 2013. The resignation was not unexpected and not thought to be related to a Justice Department investigation at the high school, Robert Cox of Talk of the Sound said.

Conetta was hired in 1992 as Assistant Principal before former NRHS Principal Don Baughman retired.

Albert Leonard Middle School Principal Velma Whiteside resigned well, effective June 30, 2013. Whiteside became principal in 2011, after serving as Assistant Principal at the school since 1986.

Barnard Elementary Principal Patricia Lambert's resignation is also effective June 30, 2013.

"This just became public knowledge at last night's board meeting," said Paul Costiglio, head of media relations for the New Rochelle School District. "Some year's there's one, some year's there's none, and some year's there's a handful. There's nothing more to attribute it to. From our perspective, this is just a year where some people decided it was time to put in the papers and get on with the next stage of their lives."
