Students can pursue an associate of science or a bachelor of science degree in human services beginning in the fall semester.

The program will train students for careers in a variety of organizations, including social service agencies, mental health and substance abuse treatment facilities, domestic violence shelters, and community centers.

The associate degree program is designed for students seeking entry-level jobs in human services, while the bachelor’s program is geared toward those seeking leadership roles in the field.

“Our new degree programs reflect the burgeoning employment prospects in human services fields, which are projected to grow at an unprecedented rate in the next seven years,” Jerry Kostroff, dean of Monroe’s school of allied health professions, said in a press release.

“The launch of these programs underscores our continued commitment to offering relevant, up-to-date education that prepares students for post-graduation career success, and will help connect students to the many New York social services agencies with which we maintain robust partnerships,” he added.

Students will be able to take human services courses in New Rochelle and the Bronx.
