My Brother’s Keeper New Rochelle is a group that includes more than 100 local agencies, allowing it to use city, corporate, nonprofit, community and educational resources. New Rochelle High School alumnus Devon Chambers designed the MBK New Rochelle website (www.mbknewro.com).

“This initiative is about making sure all of New Rochelle’s young people succeed, and for that we need our entire city,” said Councilman Jared Rice, co-chair of MBK in New Rochelle.

Rice and Reggie Richardson, principal of New Rochelle High School, are co-chairs of MBK, New Rochelle. They outlined MBK’s main goals:

  • All children enter school cognitively, physically, socially and emotionally prepared.
  • All students are reading at grade level by third grade.
  • All youths graduate from high school.
  • All young people complete post-secondary education or vocational training.
  • All youths out of school are employed.
  • Ensure that all youths remain safe from violent crime and are afforded second chances in life.
