NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- Students at the Isaac E. Young Middle School won the middle school division of the SIFMA Foundation's Stock Market Game.
The winning investment team included:
- River Sampson, sixth grade.
- Rafael DiLone, seventh grade.
- Kiara Soto, seventh grade.
- Karina Soto, eighth grade.
The team finished first in a group of 183 teams and ranked in the top five among all 1,775 middle and high school teams in the Westchester and Lower Hudson Valley region.
Each team started with a mock account of $100,000 to invest in stocks, bonds and mutual funds. The IEYMS team saw a 25 percent overall return on its investment choices. The IEYMS Stock Market Club advisre is sixth-grade math teacher Calvin Heyward.
