NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – New Rochelle Public Schools, Iona College, and the College of New Rochelle are closed Friday, but some will re-open Monday, the schools announced Thursday.
New Rochelle Public Schools will re-open Monday with the expectation that power will be fully restored. Tuesday’s election half-day schedule has been extended to a full day of instruction, the district said.
Iona students are encouraged to go home to their families if it is safe to do so. Students can continue to stay on campus if necessary. The office of student activities will plan activities during those days. No time has been set reopening Iona, which still has no power in the main building. The College of New Rochelle is closed through Sunday. Monroe College has resumed classes.
