NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. - When Monroe College opened the doors of its brand new dining facility on Wednesday morning, it had some special guests manning the grill for students.
When the doors were opened to the new student dining facility in Gaddy Hall at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, Monroe College Executive Vice President Marc Jerome was on hand to welcome a lengthily line of hungry diners, flipping pancakes and preparing breakfast for students with some of his colleagues.
As part of the opening day celebration of the new dining facility, Jerome was joined by Dean Carol Genese and Director of Residence Life Marques Johnson on the serving line, feeding hungry diners in the recently expanded space.
The Gaddy Cafe will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and will include a late-night dining option outside of the usual meal times for night owls. It will include everything from hearty breakfast choices to gourmet pizzas, pastas, salads and sides.
According to Monroe officials, the Gaddy Cafe - which replaces the former dining facility in the Monroe Athletic Complex - has a more central location, which “is more convenient to resident students in the Gaddy and Allison Hall dorms, as well as for those attending classes in the neighboring buildings.”
