Local VIPs Participate In Jefferson Elementary's Annual Great Read Aloud

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- The 14th Annual Jefferson Great Read Aloud featured books read aloud on Tuesday to students by numerous local figures.

Participants in the event at Jefferson Elementary School included New Rochelle Mayor Noam Bramson, State Sen. George Latimer, Westchester County Clerk Timothy Idoni, Associate Superintendent Schools Diane Massimo, Board of Education President Lianne Merchant, Board of Education Members Maddali Atallah, Jeffrey Hastie, David Lacher, Assistant Superintendent Joseph Williams, Albert Leonard Middle School Principal John Barnes, and many other New Rochelle VIPs. 

Listening to books being read aloud helps with fluency, especially for those students who are learning English as a second language.
