The college will award approximately 1,112 baccalaureate and master’s degrees on students from its two schools. Honorary degrees will also be conferred on Iona College alumnus’ Robert Greifeld ’79, Nasdaq Stock Market CEO, and Peter Riguardi ’83, president and chair of New York Tri-State Region at Jones Lang Lasalle, a professional services and investment management firm.
Greifeld will give the undergraduate commencement address, and Peter Riguardi ’83, will deliver the graduate address. The undergraduate ceremony takes place at 11 a.m., and the graduate ceremony begins at 3:30 p.m. The event is open to graduating students and ticketed guests.
“As our graduates transition from students to alumni, it is motivating to have successful leaders of business share their wisdom and experiences,” said Joseph E. Nyre, president of Iona College. “We are inspired by Mr. Greifeld’s many accomplishments and grateful for his willingness to share his story with his fellow Iona alumni.”
“We’re honored to have a business leader of Mr. Riguardi’s caliber and achievement share his expertise with our graduating students,” Nyre added. “He is an outstanding example of what an Iona education can help achieve as he has literally moved the world of real estate and property management.”
