Hispanic High School Kids Get Intro To Monroe College In New Rochelle

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – About 750 Latino high school students gathered Wednesday to celebrate their heritage, learn about life and look at all Monroe College has to offer.

Students from throughout the tri-state area heard from Monroe admissions staff; keynote speaker Miguel Montes, who is a former SUNY vice chancellor of Hispanic student affairs,  a motivational speaker, college applications expert and author; and La Bruja, a performance artist, rapper, poet, singer and motivational speaker.

Students were also given tours of campus and were served an early lunch.
