NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – Students planning to become nurses or join the health care industry in another fashion have more incentive to look to the College of New Rochelle, according to lohud.com.
The college has been awarded a $2.6 million federal grant to provide scholarships to students from economically disadvantaged families, according to lohud.com, which reported that the latest grant is the college’s fourth in the past three years.
The Health Resources and Services Administration is funding the grant and will distribute nearly $650,000 in scholarships annually over a four-year span, according to lohud.com.
The college’s School of Nursing had previously proposed to provide scholarships for incoming, full-time freshman and transfer students that would cover at least 50 percent of tuition and additional costs, according to lohud.com.
