NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – An art exhibit with works inspired by history can be viewed all month at the College of New Rochelle’s Castle Gallery.

A reception for the gallery will be held May 5 from 2 to 4 p.m.  Artists featured in the exhibit include Kamal Al Mansour, Lynn Cazabon, Victoria Crayhon, Jennifer Crupi, So Yoon Lym, Joe Meiser, Dean Landry, Cara DeAngelis, Daniel Ludlow and Suyeon Na.

“Historical Commentaries presents the work of artists who address notions of history on both individual and societal levels,” a news release from the college said.

The exhibit was organized by Katrina Rhein, director of the Castle Gallery, who said the art works “informed by personal memories, cultural histories, fantastical myths, misleading advertising or propaganda, forgotten accomplishments and unacknowledged omissions,” a press release said.

The Castle Gallery, located in the west wing of Leland Castle at The College of New Rochelle, is open Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, 12 to 4 p.m. The exhibit will run until June 23.
