NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – More than 1,000 baccalaureate and master’s degrees were awarded at The College of New Rochelle’s 105th commencement Saturday at Radio City Music Hall in Manhattan.
Carla Harris, managing director, emerging manager platform, at Morgan Stanley Investment Management, delivered the keynote address. A Harvard Business School graduate, Harris was named by Fortune magazine as one of “The 50 Most Powerful Black Executives in Corporate America.” The College of New Rochelle recognized her with an honorary degree.
The college also gave honorary degrees to jazz musician Wynton Marsalis and Archbishop Francis Chullikatt, permanent observer of the Holy See to the United Nations.
Marsalis played the trumpet, accompanied by Harris, who is also an accomplished singer with three albums.
