NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- The College of New Rochelle appointed Dr. H. Michael Dreher as the new Dean of the School of Nursing.
Dreher has 30 years of experience in the nursing field, including his most recent position as Associate Director of BSN Programs and Director of MSN Programs at Drexel University.
During his time at Drexel Dreher helped found one of the first Doctor of Nursing Practice programs in the country in 2005.
“A seasoned professional with a strong record of leadership, Dr. Dreher’s unique background in undergraduate and graduate education, program development, integration of care technology, and online learning will greatly enhance our many School of Nursing programs,” Judith Huntington, President of The College of New Rochelle said in a statement.
Dreher graduated from the University of South Carolina and received his PhD in Nursing Science from Widener University. He continued as a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Pennsylvania Center for Sleep and Respiratory Neurobiology, School of Medicine and School of Nursing, specializing in sleep in medical and psychiatric illness.
”I am honored to be appointed the sixth Dean. The healthcare landscape is rapidly changing," Dreher said in a statement. "To improve health outcomes and better serve diverse populations, our nation’s nursing schools need to innovate more to help bring greater access to health care for those who still might remain underserved despite healthcare reform."
