O'Shaughnessy also is the president of Whitney Media, the parent company of both WVOX and its sister radio station WVIP.
“[WVOX] has provided a beacon of free speech to New Rochelle and surrounding communities that hardly exists anyplace else,” Robert J. Marrone, the Chamber of Commerce's executive director, said in a statement. “David proudly carries on the family tradition, and we are proud to that he has agreed to serve as Grand Marshal.”
O'Shaughnessy's father, William, founded WVOX in 1949, and the station has been a home for social, political and artistic discourse in the city ever since.
