Stamford's CBRE Closes Deal For U-Haul Parent Company In New Rochelle

STAMFORD, Conn. – CBRE Group of Stamford on Tuesday announced the successful sale of the commercial building at 125 Beechwood Ave. in New Rochelle, N.Y.

Located on 4.2 acres adjacent to I-95 and a short drive to Manhattan, the 152,000-square-foot building was sold for $6.1 million to Arizona-based AMERCO, the parent company of moving and storage operator U-Haul. It will be used for truck and van rentals and selling moving supplies, with other potential future uses.

Kevin Langtry, a vice president in the Westchester/Fairfield County office of CBRE represented seller LARS Realty Co. in the transaction.

“As a large, industrial space, 125 Beechwood was well-suited to the needs of the buyer, which will capitalize on its size and location to provide the services for which it is so well known,” Langtry said. “But this really continues a trend of any relatively large block of industrial being scooped up by users, there aren’t many options to purchase.”

Jami Savage, a vice president in CBRE’s Phoenix office, and Kevin McCarthy, a vice president in CBRE’s Westchester/Fairfield office, represented buyer AMERCO in the transaction.
