The property is listed for $5,985,000 by the Stevens Kencel Group at Douglas Elliman and agents Lyn Stevens and Robin Kencel. The property sits on 2.27 manicured, level acres on a cul-de-sac in central Greenwich. The home features seven full baths, two half baths and 9,956 square feet of living space.

The current owners extensively renovated the home inside and out with an inordinate eye for detail. “The level of craftsmanship makes it stand apart from homes in this price range,’’ Kencel said. “The quality of the construction is excellent. They took such care and attention to detail, and there’s a lot of bells and whistles on the property.”

The renovated kitchen stands as the home’s hallmark. It features two SubZero refrigerators, new cabinets with rich detail, two large islands, two ovens and top appliances. “From a design perspective, it functions terrific,’’ said Kencel, a former kitchen designer. “This kitchen is a cook’s dream, but it’s also beautiful.” The kitchen even won an award for best remodeling project for a kitchen by the Home Builders and Remodelers Association of Connecticut.

Kencel said the kitchen’s spaciousness will surprise visitors, but there are plenty of other surprises. There is a wine cellar with tasting room, media room, yoga space, library on the mezzanine level, six en suite bedrooms, and a private mahogany office with fireplace and wet bar.

A solarium opens to a deck overlooking the rear yard, which includes an inground pool. While it is a home of sophistication and extravagance, it is also charming and livable.

“It just isn’t four square walls,’’ Kencel said. “There are neat architectural details in every room. It’s not typical in any way. They took great care in everything they did, from the floor plan to the finishes.”

One of the other primary features is a gorgeous floor to ceiling stone fireplace that anchors the family room. “What’s fun about it is there could a family room on just about every floor,’’ Kencel said. “There are multiple family spaces, which is a little unusual, especially with the quality and livability that this home has.”
