NEW ROCHELLE N.Y. – Creating a day-care center on Main Street is one of the items on the agenda when the New Rochelle Zoning Board meets Tuesday.

The board will consider a special-use permit for Urban Community Metro to create a day-care center on the lower level of an existing building on the property. In making a decision, the board will consider how Urban will handle traffic flow and safety concerns at and around the center.

The board can issue the special permit for the building based on what the applicant submits, and if the board thinks it’s satisfactory.

An applicant’s plan needs to make sure traffic patterns around the area are not changed, and water use to the building is not affected.

The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m.  in meeting room b-1 at City Hall, 515 North Ave.
