Abiud Torres was taken into custody without incident on the 1800 block of Hart Lane around 6:45 a.m., said Marshal Robert Clark.

Investigators had suspected Torres, 20, of "frequenting multiple abandoned residences in the Kensington section of Philadelphia" before tracking him down on Hart Lane Thursday morning, Clark said.

Torres is accused of fatally shooting his girlfriend Tatiana Vargas in front of her 11-year-old son on Dec. 23, Marshals said. She was found with gunshot wounds to the face and chest and pronounced dead at the scene, Daily Voice reported

“Abiud Torres committed a senseless, tragic crime, against a woman who had her whole life ahead of her," Clark wrote in a statement.

"I am hoping this arrest can bring some closure to the Vargas family and all who knew Tatiana Vargas."

Vargas worked as a teacher and also helped out with her family's South Philly restaurant, according to her obituary
