Wareham 14-Year-Old Dies Week After Hit By Car While Riding His Bike: DA

A 14-year-old boy has died from his injuries a week after he was struck by a car in Southeast Massachusetts, according to officials.

Tobey Alford, of Wareham, was hit by a Chevrolet Blazer while he was riding his bicycle at the intersection of Sandwich and Narrows roads around 8:15 p.m. on Tuesday, April 18, the Plymouth County District Attorney's Office reports.

Tobey was flown to a hospital with a head injury. He was pronounced dead on Monday, April 24, the DA's Office continued.

"No parent should have to bury their child," a GoFundMe campaign organized on Tobey's behalf reads. "Keep Paul and his family in your thoughts and prayers as they navigate through the tumultuous seas of emotion yet to come."

Meanwhile, the female driver involved in the crash has cooperated with investigators but is not being identified, the DA's Office said. The investigation is ongoing.
